The average lake level rose by&nbsp;4&nbsp;cm (2&nbsp;in) over the past week and is expected to&nbsp;rise by 1 to 3 cm (1 in)&nbsp;over the next week.&nbsp;Lake of the Woods authorized outflow is 90 m\u00b3\/s with no changes scheduled.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Thursday November 18<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;there will be a full outage of both the Norman Dam and Kenora&nbsp;Powerhouse to create a safe work environment&nbsp;for&nbsp;Hydro One&nbsp;to&nbsp;carry out maintenance on the&nbsp;transmission system.&nbsp; The outage will begin at 8:00am CST and is&nbsp;expected to finish at 11:00am.&nbsp;&nbsp;The combined flow from the dam and the powerhouse will be reduced from 90 to 15 m<sup>3<\/sup>\/s for the period of the outage.&nbsp; Given the short duration of the outage and the time of year, no ecological&nbsp;impacts are anticipated.&nbsp; The level of the Winnipeg River is expected to drop by up to&nbsp;10 to 15 cm immediately&nbsp;below&nbsp;the Norman&nbsp;Dam during the outage and should return to the pre-outage level once work is complete.&nbsp; The level change will be less at locations farther downstream.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The current level of&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/lwcb.ca\/pdf\/LacSeul.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lac Seul&nbsp;<\/a>is 355.93 m (1167.7 ft), a 15th percentile level for this time of year. The average lake level rose by 7 cm (3 in) over the past week and is expected to rise by&nbsp;1&nbsp;to&nbsp;5&nbsp;cm (1&nbsp;to&nbsp;2&nbsp;in) over the next week.&nbsp;Lac Seul authorized outflow&nbsp;will increase from&nbsp;75&nbsp;to 150&nbsp;m\u00b3\/s&nbsp;on Tuesday November 16.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the coming weeks, outflow from both lakes will increase to meet the anticipated winter hydropower demand.&nbsp; Increases are expected to be gradual and should be complete before an ice cover is formed on the rivers.&nbsp; Outflow increases will be announced on this Noticeboard.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The current level of&nbsp;Lake of the Woods&nbsp;is&nbsp;322.57&nbsp;m (1058.3ft), a 10th percentile level for this time of year.
