The Winnipeg River basin received less rainfall than anticipated over the weekend, and conditions have remained dry throughout the week. To continue maintaining the balance between Lake of the Woods and Winnipeg River levels, a small additional outflow reduction is scheduled for tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The current level of\u00a0Lake of the Woods<\/a>\u00a0is 322.78 m (1058.9 ft), a 15th<\/sup>\u00a0percentile level, below the normal range for this time of year. The average lake level decreased by 3.5 cm (1.4 in) over the last week and is expected to remain stable over the next week. Lake of the Woods authorized outflow will be reduced to 250 m3<\/sup>\/s on Friday, July 4th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This outflow reductions will cause levels along the Winnipeg River to decrease by 5 cm (2 in) below the Norman Dam, 3.5 cm (1.4 in) above Kimberley Rapids and 2 cm (0.8 in) at the Dalles. Levels at Minaki will not be affected by these flow changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The current level of\u00a0Lac Seul<\/a>\u00a0is 355.85 m (1167.5 ft), a 20th<\/sup>\u00a0percentile level, below the normal range for this time of year. The lake level increased by 6.9 cm (2.7 in) over the last week and is expected to increase by 5 to 8 cm (2 to 3 in) over the next week.
